Brian Moore, ASP, CRM -Vice President. Brian currently leads (ASG) Avant Supermarket Group in its efforts to provide a successful program to support retail grocers. Previously Brian led ASG's loss control efforts for the last ten years and assisted Bill Morrison in day to day operations at ASG. Brian worked with our team at Benchmark for 5 years as a Senior Loss Control Representative before working with several large national and regional carriers. There he expanded the breadth and depth of his knowledge in the safety and loss control field.

Gail Sanders, AIC -Director of Claims. Gail handles all property/casualty claims for the supermarket/grocery store program. She has over a dozen years of experience with insurance claims for retail grocers and over 20 years of industry experience. She has extensive experience in litigation management and catastrophic claims management. While her efforts with ASG support the property/casualty claims of grocery retailers, her industry experience provides significant benefit to our clients for any line of coverage.

Kristi Lefler -Underwriter. Kristi also returns to the ASG team having worked with us at Benchmark followed by stints in local retail agency operations. Her knowledge of our operations in support of independent grocers, coupled with the experience gained in retail agencies, makes Kristi a great pick in an underwriting role for our team.

Carmen Coates -Accounting Support Specialist. Carmen provides support to the various elements of transactional accounting at ASG. Her knowledge and ability allow ASG to continue its popular ACH payment plan that provides retail grocers wide flexibility in the payment schedule through automatic bank drafts at no charge to our customers or agents.

Michelle Wright, AIC - Claim Adjuster. Michelle handles general liability claims for the supermarket/grocery store program. She started with ASG in 2021 and has prior experience with Auto Liability, Employment Practices Liability, and Professional Liability claims handling. Her prior experience paired with supermarket specific training has made her an asset to our claims team.

Nathaniel Gaw- Underwriter. Nathaniel has worked in the insurance industry since 2005 and has extensive experience writing Property and Casualty coverages having worked for some of the biggest MGAs in the country. He has spent his whole career underwriting Commercial Lines Insurance for businesses that operate in various industries and joined Avant Supermarket Group in June of 2020. Nathaniel holds a Property/Casualty Insurance Producer License in the State of Tennessee.

William R. “Bill” Morrison- Consultant. Bill previously led Avant Supermarket Group (ASG) and its efforts to provide a successful program to support retail grocers. Bill is providing consultative services as ASG transitions into new leadership. Bill, a Certified Public Accountant by training and education, has over two decades experience specifically with grocer’s business and over three decades general experience in the field of insurance company management and accounting. He was previously the President of Benchmark Insurance Company - a stock property/casualty insurance company that had for years specialized in insurance for independent retail grocers prior to ownership change.

Faith Villanueva - Loss Control. Faith joined the Avant team in 2021 as a loss control consultant. Faith previously worked for a multi-line insurance carrier after graduating with a BS from the University of Central Oklahoma in Industrial Safety. Faith supports ASG's grocery clients as well as Avant's other classes of business. Faith's safety background paired with supermarket specific training makes her an asset to our loss control team. 

​Shelly Thomas - Underwriter Assistant. Shelly joined the ASG team in 2021. Shelly assists our underwriters with all new business and renewals. She distributes monthly reports, and processes and issues all policies and endorsements.  Shelly joined the ASG team in 2021 and brings with her 17 years of underwriting assistant experience in property/casualty insurance.

Eren Moore - Claim Adjuster. Eren joined the ASG team in 2023. Eren previously worked as a contractor for our claims department before joining the team in May 2023 to become a full time adjuster. Eren has worked in the service industry for the last 20 years. Eren's experience brings a high level of customer service and communication to our claims department. Her prior experience paired with supermarket specific and claims training makes her an asset to our claims team.
